Vampire Knight Guilty: The Aftershock January 2, 2009

I don’t believe in New Year resolutions, surely I’ll be the first to break them so I’d better not make one.  However, I just can’t leave some issues unresolved for the past year and so I’m making sure I have to settle it now.

But before that, Happy New Year Everyone!

No more putting up with sappy late night gag shows and no longer will I be battling keeping my eyes open while trying to stay awake for the early morning Vampire Knight Guilty show! What a relief!

Wait, did I say it was finally over?

Honestly, I was kinda half-hearted at the last episode but now as I think about it I just realized that I have so much to blab about!  I didn’t feel like it in my last post since I’ve been considering this stuff  as one of those routines I’ve fused into my weekly schedules.  But I was just struck by the realization that Vampire Knight Guilty is no more! *sniff* Delayed reaction much?

The One

The One ♥

It’s not that it’s the best anime I’ve watched recently, in fact, I have to make a fuss about it a couple of times.  I didn’t like one bit of those twists they’ve done desecrating the very essence of the story, how they hastened things up for I don’t know what and the crappy animation is overly a disappointment for me, that, except the 13th.

If not all my disappointments were gone, at least the last episode left me a satisfying feeling, as if it compensated for all those not so laudable things they’ve done in the past.  This time the story was stitched beautifully and I commend this episode to be such a good ending.

Zero. I really felt for Zero, I can feel his pain.  I’ve watched that scene with Yuuki over and over again. I like how his “love confession” was made.  It’s such a rare thing for vampires to say “I love you” literally right, expressing it is  more than that and it’s way deeper that no words could ever define.

Zero’s feelings got through Yuuki by means of his blood.  But wouldn’t that make her a traitor?  Remember she said he only wanted Kaname’s blood and that was one big sin she committed against him I suppose.

Kaname. He wasn’t a bit expecting such turn of events right?  He so thought Yuuki already decided on Zero so he was willing to set his precious one free and let her find her happiness. I was kinda uncertain of it either it left me hanging.

Yuuki. I think she somehow developed some feelings for Zero, though it wasn’t that strong compared to what she felt about Kaname.  They have been together for quite long so there might be some tiny sparks on their relationship and only Yuuki was too absorbed with Kaname to pay even a little notice.

I saw two things why she cried at that last scene with Zero.  One, for the sake of old times, as two friends and almost siblings who could never see each other again and the second  is that because she had finally learned of Zero’s feelings, gentle as she is, felt his pain and was so sorry she couldn’t return it.

I guess those were just the most important parts which defined the story as a whole.  We’ve come to know who the Vampire Knight in the anime  is.  Zero did prove himself at once.  Also it is said to be that this story is a bit much of a tragedy but I guess the tragic part is that Zero’s demise in love and not some other things.  We’ve seen that no one died except the uncertainty of Ichijou’s fate. Did he really died or what?

Season 3? I don’t think so at this point.  The last season had already been wrapped up though we can’t deny the fact that the ending was an open one which gives us a slim chance for a sequel in the future as there’s not enough materials available, now that the anime has gone past the 46th chapter of the manga.  But who knows?

Elfen Lied Anime: Nyuu!! :3 December 29, 2008

Done!  I’ve watched it and I loved it! Actually, it was a week or two ago and I did a re-run today!

The Rave…

Indeed, this has the most artistic, symbolic and the most beautiful opening I have ever seen so far!  You wouldn’t really understand it’s relevance if you aren’t gonna look closer and have no idea what the story’s about.

And the music, I can feel it seething through the inner core of me!  Lilium, so mysterious and marvelous, ah…superlatives!  It’s super!

Here, found a creditless opening.  See?

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I have written in one of my posts earlier that I already have read the manga and I’ve been in love with it.  Here in the anime, the characters were made as an exact replica of what was in the manga.  Only they seemed so alive and in full color!

I was amazed how they were able to fuse the whole 107 chapters of the manga into this series.  Of course, many scenes were taken out and the plots were twisted a bit and some were completely different but just the same it was sewn into one beautiful masterpiece!  Shall I say, the best anime I have ever seen in 2008!

I was glad they didn’t picture Nyuu here as some pervert like she was in the manga! *hehe* Everything were made so subtle so I have no complaints.  In fact, she was so cute in here.

Lucy too is a bit tamer here than in the manga and she had only four vectors while she had multiple in the latter.  Didn’t see Anna here either but there’s just the mention of Eve. Even Lucy’s come back is so different and even the manner in which she died.

Read and watch both that you’ll see what I mean.

If the anime’s ending was so emotional, the manga is a couple of times worse.  But it’s a good thing to have watched the anime first than reading the manga so you’ll be no whiner like me! XD

The Rant…

My sister kept on complaining the first time she watched it with me cause the first seven minutes or more were all about splattering blood, torn body parts and nudity.

I had my ears full of complaints and after a few she just quieted herself up and was engrossed too!  So like the first time I watched it, I was very much like that!

The only thing I’d like to complain about is that the anime’s so short that it lacks the depth I was looking for having read the manga again.  Can’t quit comparing can I?

It was such a waste, the story’s so beautiful that it deserves to be having a sequel or at least they could have made it into a 26-series one and not just some shorties and an OVA! :(

Elfen Lied

I usually rely on recommendations from friends on which manga or anime to read or watch (too lazy) though I would be the critic in the end.  I really missed my Stage6 friends… “I told you” I can hear them say.

Alright, I finally had my hands on Elfen Lied, corresponding to German term which means “Elven Song.”

The Rave…

Save from the violence and nudity, God I love this manga! Nyuu! :3

I have had mixed emotions while at it and  I was like glued to my seat and read all the chapters all in half a day!

I was mentally protesting, “No more of this, enough of this!” but still, I am so eager to know what’s gonna happen next.  Pathetic am I not?

I like how the story was made balanced in all the aspects and I think there hadn’t been a single issue that was left unanswered!

The Rant…

This manga is an eye-opener for me of some sort though I must admit that this is nothing but a fiction.  The plot is somewhat closer to the reality confronting us all these days. Working in the media, I must say that I am fed up of all these issues concerning deceit, exploitation, manipulation, killings, etc. but we can’t run away from them…

I just pity those Diclonius species and the humans who have given up their lives like they’re but pieces of trash for a single soul’s selfish ambitions.  Nah, I just can’t help but think of things like these while I was reading but enough of the serious talk!

Now, back to the manga, I can’t say the illustration’s that notable but it excels in gruesomeness at times with all those splattering blood, flying body parts and that Anna…eek, gross!

I was really moved by the story especially the part when Kohta needed to kill Nyuu to get rid of Lucy as well except for a scene in the finale part.  Remember that Bandou-san with half his body slashed out was still alive?  Is it only me who thinks that part was ridiculous?

I have watched the anime before of about three episodes but I wasn’t up for it.  But having read the manga, I might give it a second chance and I wanna hear what the Elfen Lied sound like.

Fairy + Glass

Fairy + Glass

Fairy + Glass

The week’s almost over now but we haven’t seen a shadow of Fairy Tail’s 116th chapter when it’s usually out on a mid-week.

From what I have gathered, Mr. Mashima’s probably taking the break for the season but there haven’t been further announcements is there?

Anyways, this post is still Fairy Tail related and I found this an opportune time to start my “Raves and Rants” section.

In here will be sort of reviews for the recent mangas or animes I’ve finished watching or reading, the completed ones, one-shots, and others along that line will all be covered here.

Now, as I was browsing the web for the latest FT, look what I found instead!  It was there laying for so long at the Kunlun’s photo gallery!

Fairy Tail + Yankee-kun and Megane-chan = Fairy Glasses!

An Overview…

The student council from where high schoolers  Shinagawa, Adachi and the gang (I assume they made it in the Student Council ) came to visit Fairy Tail to undergo magic lessons from the guild.

Each of the five students were teamed up with the Fairy Tail Members. Natsu with Adachi, Lucy with Shinagawa, Gray with Chiba, Erza with Himeji and finally Makarov’s been pestered by Izumi.  They really were idiotic combos!

Megane-chan’s had them wore glasses too!  The rest of FT mages looked classy in them but ugh, Natsu’s  like a thug!

Have they learned something? Well, um, except for having been mesmerized by Erza’s ex-quip, nosebleeds over Lucy’s booby-trap, major fluke disaster Plue…terrible!

The short special ended with the Fairy Tail mages coming over at Yankee and Megane’s high school (forgot what it’s called), wore normal uniforms but refinement is quite too much for them! XD

The Rave…

At first glance I said, those aren’t Mr. Mashima’s characters but who are they?  I have been following Fairy Tail like crazy for sometime now so I really am overly familiar with who’s who except the new ones so I could easily spot the difference.  Finally, I figured out quite a bit.

There had been a short collaboration work from Hiro Mashima and former assistant Miki Yoshikawa earlier this year published in the 51st issue of the weekly Shounen Magazine and that was it.  Fairy Glasses!

The joint work is much too cool for me!  I have a great time looking at the pics.  Ahem, can’t understand Chinese all that much!   But the two authors sure are great!

I haven’t been so privy about the person behind the famous mangas but now I’m starting to dig them up and uncover a much wider world of animation out there!

The Rant…

Because of Fairy Tail Glasses, I was compelled to read Yoshikawa’s Yankee-Kun To Megane-Chan and hell, they were a riot of a tandem!  I’m so engrossed!

By the way, in Japanese, “Yankee” colloquially means delinquent and of course “Megane” means glasses.

Though the artwork is quite okay but I laughed so hard at every chapter not knowing it was already 3 am!  I started reading at midnight my time so…

Alas, but my mom came knocking at my door and I got scolded for howling so loud! How I wish my room’s a soundproof! ^^;

I’ve read almost 24 chapters that time, the only ones available at Mangafox but I was so surprised to see that a Chinese site had already 78 chapters in total!  I can’t say if I could parse on every chapter from now on with my hands really full at the moment, plus Chinese is taking a lot of my time but in the near future I hope and I really want to! Someone please…scanlations?

This is a must read!  Take my word for it!
